Senior Housing
HMHI has
sponsored, developed and manages three HUD Section 202
Supportive Housing for the Elderly apartments. Residents
must be 62 years or older with limited income. Rent is
based on each individual’s adjusted income. Each unit has
one bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen and individual heat
and air conditioning. A large community room and several
common area spaces are included. Supportive services in
all 202’s include links and referrals to transportation,
meals, housekeeping, personal needs, home health care and
senior activities. The operation of all 202’s is under
Carla Mitcham, HMHI Director of Housing Operations.

Saint Patrick Manor

In 1999,
Saint Patrick Manor in Wellington, OH was completed and
placed in service with 50 units. This was the first HUD 202
sponsored by HMHI, and it was in coordination with Catholic
Charities of the Cleveland Diocese. Pat Bennett is the
on-site manager with maintenance help from her husband
Herb.
Saint Timothy Manor

In 2004,
St. Timothy Manor in Garfield Heights, OH was completed and
placed in service with 40 units. Part of St. Timothy Manor
is incorporated into the former rectory of Saint
Timothy’s. In addition to 35 units of new construction,
part of the rectory was refurbished into five (5) units and
two (2) common areas. Robin Poole is the on-site manager.
In 2006,
HMHI was awarded a HUD 202 grant to build an additional
forty units which expands our ability to serve eighty senior
residents in Garfield Heights.

Villa at Marian Park

In October
of 2005, the Villa at Marian Park opened 40 units in the
Firestone Park neighborhood of South Akron. This project
has been enthusiastically welcomed by the Firestone
neighborhood and was developed with the assistance of the
local council person and the mayor. Corky Boshara is the
onsite manager.
Saint
Martha Manor in Akron will be a recent addition to
the HM Housing Ministry's senior facilities. Like
Saint Timothy Manor, Saint Martha's will blend new
construction with remodeling of the former school building
to offer a total of 36 apartment units. The facility
will feature below-market rent, a security controlled
entrance, air conditioning, kitchen appliances, a community
room with attached kitchen and several multipurpose lounges.
Both one and two bedroom units will be available. |
